This hillside Park City house is grounded in century-old Western history evoked through rustic reclaimed corral board siding, two-foot-thick Montana moss rock walls strategically deconstructed as tumbled “ruins” and a homesteader-like cluster of structures. Contemporary expanses of glass and steel connect timber and stone forms and invite nature, capturing high-country panoramas and the sounds and sparkle of multiple Verdone Landscape Architects water features, including a mining sluice box-style waterfall that flows under the opens-to-the-elements dining room.

The home is perched on a hillside, surrounded by ponds and reflected in infinity pools, but the first thing anyone notices is the massive red marbled steel door, faded like it has been out in the weather for 100 years.

Base Camp at Talisker Club in Tuhaye is truly one-of-a-kind. Base Camp is a 25,000-square-foot mountain-contemporary hospitality lodge where everyone comes together for fun, adventure, and a lifetime of memories. This new clubhouse can be found next to the existing Tuhaye Clubhouse within the private community in Kamas. This large multi-use family-oriented facility includes casual dining, a soda bar, golf and game simulators, two lanes of bowling, basketball, and pickleball courts. Upon entering, Big-D Signature built a large-scale custom 13’ long fireplace along with large-scale 5,000 – 8,000 pound decorative trusses.

Big-D Signature, along with Storied Deer Valley, LLC and Swaback Architects + Planners, is proud to showcase the highly anticipated Base Camp at Talisker Club.

The Provisions, the family-friendly bar, lounge and sundries market allows for casual, delicious fare for both dine-in and to-go—as well as the finest wines, spirits and brews. Something that we think is really unique and innovative is the new STEM programming “Dream Lab” that was built where young and old alike can go to create cool things with robotics, lasers and 3D printers allowing for educational opportunities within the community. In addition, Base Camp added garage space on level 1 for golf cart storage and golf cart maintenance. Storied Development is now an even more well-accomplished club with the Base Camp Club being a unique, distinguished, high-end addition to the Park City community.

Argent, is the last private residential lodge in The Village at Empire Pass, an area known for some of the finest all-season mountain properties in the world.  It consists of a 108,559-square foot structure on a two-acre site. Argent has a total of 31 units that includes two (2) employee workforce housing units, one (1) ADA unit and (28) luxury units that range in size from two-bedroom/two-bath to four-bedroom/4½-bath at the penthouse level.
Argent boasts plenty of opportunities for ‘neighbors’ and their families to come together to create memorable experiences in one of the many oversized, on-site amenities.  A ski lounge that spills onto an Après Ski &amp; Events patio offers the perfect place to mingle; ski valet and private lockers allow residents to be ‘slope ready’ within minutes; a spa pool and outdoor fire pit gathering areas are a soothing end to a day on the trails; and a custom two-lane bowling alley provides endless entertainment.

As builders on the renovation of this exclusive Jackson Hole property, we worked with AD100 designer Andre Mellone, executing a sophisticated vision blending French, Scandinavian, and Brazilian midcentury modernism with Italian 1970s design elements. We preserved the original slope-side architecture while applying rich dark glazes to all woodwork, installing Calacatta Viola marble in the kitchen, and upgrading the primary bath with specialty tile and Nubo Verde stone. 
A standout feature is our conversion of a ground-level guest room into a luxury wellness retreat with a sauna, steam room, and cedar cold-plunge tub.

Big-D Signature partnered with the developer in 2018 and since that time has constructed four condominium buildings, seven townhomes, the King’s Crown Tower and Ski Lounge, and a number of private residences. The Townhomes at King’s Crown are seven connected but individual high-end dwellings on the north side of Rothwell Road. Each four-story unit exceeds 4,000-sf, features two-car garages, game rooms, roof decks, multiple fireplaces, and high-end finishes throughout. King’s Crown

The home is also sheltered by the majestic Grand Teton mountains, providing a breathtaking backdrop for homeowners to enjoy. A glass-and-steel connector joins old and new in this rustically elegant, regionally known gem. However, the story of this masterpiece actually begins in rural Montana where a historic limestone creamery was salvaged and repurposed for the project (more on that below).

Nestled in a native grass meadow along the waters of the Snake River, the Creamery house is framed by large windows that provide panoramic views of the Wyoming countryside.

The original structure for the Creamery was actually built in Great Falls, MT by a group of Scottish immigrants in the 19th century. The immigrants used the structure as an actual creamery, giving the property its historic namesake. The homeowner purchased the building and contracted Big-D Signature and JLF Architects to orchestrate the stone-by-stone relocation of the building to Jackson, WY. Construction crews labeled and mapped each stone, and with a few small exceptions, the building maintains its original layout.

Wasatch Fire District Station 51 redefines what a modern fire station can be, bold in design, efficient in function, and built to last. This 25,700-square-foot facility, supported by a 3,000-square-foot auxiliary building, blends architectural impact with operational excellence. The station&#8217;s commanding presence centers on its expansive apparatus bay, featuring six striking fire-red folding doors that create a bold architectural statement. Constructed with durable CMU block masonry, the building&#8217;s distinctive sharp angular design reflects modern firefighting capabilities while establishing a contemporary community landmark. 
The facility expertly balances operational efficiency with public engagement through thoughtfully designed spaces. Essential living areas include multiple sleep rooms, a full kitchen, dayroom, and fitness facility to support 24/7 operations. Larkspur Townhomes at Empire Pass

Located on the ground floor of a mixed-use apartment complex in the heart of Sugar House, Hearth and Hill&#8217;s Restaurant and Coffee Shop is a modern-industrial aesthetic through its white-brick exterior and open kitchen design. The space transitions seamlessly from the restaurant&#8217;s dynamic culinary hub to a cozy coffeehouse area. 
The distinctive design elements project transformed 10,985 square feet of former retail space into Hearth and Hill&#8217;s latest Sugar House location through an extensive tenant improvement. Premium finishes elevate the space, including finished-in-place hardwood flooring, bespoke lighting fixtures, a horseshoe-shaped bar, an intimate chef&#8217;s counter, and a private dining room with patio access. The project also marks a Utah milestone as the first installation of PK30 doors in the state.

Hearth & Hill – Sugar Alley

A unique addition to Brighton Resort, this mid-mountain lodge is a single story 4,618 square-foot hybrid structure that includes three repurposed shipping containers; one container serves as a pre-constructed restroom pod while the other two containers combine to one large kitchen as a commercial counter-style restaurant. On each side of the container module, two dining halls framed with heavy timber and steel will accommodate 180 hungry outdoor enthusiasts. Additionally, the exterior seating areas will provide 7,600 square feet of outdoor seating occupancy on a heated concrete terrace for outdoor dining and relaxation experiences.

Big-D Signature, along with Brighton Resort and Bluebird Day Architecture, completed the construction of Sidewinder Grill, a mid-mountain rest area for skiers and snowboarders.

Sidewinder Grill is located right above the Snake Creek ski lift, and where the Sunshine and Pioneer runs meet, giving patrons additional on-mountain options. In addition, Signature provided concrete foundations for (16) towers and top and bottom 
terminals for a new Doppelmayr D-series lift to replace the existing 30-year-old lift. This lift is one of the main 
lifts running from the parking lot to the top ridge. The bottom terminal sits at an elevation of 8,784’ with the 
top terminal at 9,980’.

The Sugarloaf Patrol Building, perched at an impressive 10,550 feet, is a 600-sf, two-story structure that provides Alta’s ski patrol team with a much-needed vantage point over the Sugar Bowl area.

This place, which was previously difficult to monitor, is now clearly visible to the patrol, enhancing their ability to ensure everyone’s safety on the slopes. For our team, this project wasn’t just another job, it was a chance to create something impactful for an iconic ski destination.
From navigating steep and rugged terrain to managing an exceptionally tight construction timeline, the project’s unique demands required the team to work creatively and effectively to bring it to life.
After two and a half intense months, we wrapped up this special project, achieving a major milestone not only as our highest project in elevation but as a powerful testament to the resilience and dedication of our team and Altas.

The completion of the McGrath Family Mountain Center at Park City Mountain Resort replaced the existing outdated and cramped double-wide trailer at the base of the Park City Mountain Resort. This new building allows the NAC to expand the ski and snowboard programs that they currently offer to participants and provide space for more than 60 employees and volunteers. This innovative building now accommodates skiers and boarders of various ability levels – allowing participants to exit the building and easily transition to the snow surface of the largest ski resort in the United States. The new 9,400 SF facility includes lobby space, equipment fitting and rental space, expandable training rooms, dining space for participants, offices, meeting rooms, locker facilities, and plenty of wheelchair storage space.

This was the idea behind the remodel of this Jackson, Wyoming home located along Indian Springs Drive. No stranger to building Indian Springs homes, Big-D Signature collaborated with JLF architects to remodel this traditional log-style mountain home, which was completed in two phases. To celebrate the old and welcome the new, the entirety of this 10,375-square-foot, 3-level home, which features an attached garage and upper-level living area, was remodeled in a contemporary design while maintaining the bones and character of an authentic mountain home.

Combining the timeless with the modern often gives you the best of both worlds.

As part of the first phase of the project, Big-D Signature made myriad structural changes to remodel and contemporize the home. The home’s log columns were traded out for modern steel columns, while the entire interior of the home was media blasted and whitewashed for a clean, contemporary look. Big-D Signature also installed new windows, doors, and finishes throughout the home, as well as a curved operable window wall, a bonderized roof, and architectural steel. For the second phase of the project, Big-D Signature performed extensive landscaping and hardscaping of the property.

From hiking and fly fishing in the summer months, to skiing in the winter months, the quaint Wyoming town has a lot to offer during its busy winter and summer seasons. As more people add Jackson to their travel bucket list, there was a need for more visitor accommodations.
The 125-room, 4-story hotel nestled in the heart of Jackson, Wyoming is centrally located in downtown Jackson blocks from the town square and Snow King Mountain Resort. Amenities include a 3,000 square foot restaurant, a heated outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, a 24-hour fitness center, and 1,500 square feet of flexible meeting space. In addition to the hotel’s guest rooms, the hotel’s top floor features 9 owner-occupied condominiums. An underground parking garage provides covered parking for guests and employees.

Nestled in the shadows of the Grand Tetons, Jackson Hole attracts more than 2.6 million tourists from around the world annually.

The area offers a myriad of outdoor activities during the summer and winter seasons. Speaking of winter, Jackson saw more than 400 inches of snow during the 2015 – 2016 season, which also fell during the middle of construction. The snow posed a bit of a challenge as crews constructed the underground parking structure and the post-tensioned concrete slab for the hotel itself during this time.

The building is primarily a wood structure that sits atop a post-tension slab with underground parking below the hotel. The exterior is finished with wood siding and bonderized metal with the elevator and stair towers being a board-formed concrete to give it a Jackson feel. There is also a unique steel framed canopy that wraps the first and third levels. It is the first building in Jackson to be above 3 stories in height and is even more unique in the fact that the 4th level condos are privately owned.

The 3-year build included ground-up construction of a contemporary 8,713-square-foot, two-level home, complete with exposed engineered lumber beams, stone masonry veneer, custom glass, and low-sloping sod roofs. Big-D Signature also provided supervisory work, framing, and trim carpentry. The home was built on the East Gros Ventre Butte Ridge, providing its residents with breathtaking views of the Snow King Mountain Resort, the Snake River, Spring Gulch, and of course, the Grand Tetons.
